One-on-one insight depth that’s highly flexible, depending on your needs and budget.
- What they are: In-depth interviews are more intensive one-on-one discussions with a smaller number of respondents. This methodology devotes more time to each respondent, to more fully explore and understand their feelings, attitudes, and behaviors related to a topic. In-depth interviews can be conducted in person, by telephone, or online via webcams.
- Our approach: We love in-depths when you want to explore a more sensitive issue, where respondents may be less forthcoming in a group, or when respondents are geographically diverse, but the topic is complex and would benefit from a guided one-on-one discussion with a moderator (as opposed to a bulletin board). IOI conducts in-depths both face to face and remotely, depend on your specific needs and budget.
- In-person interviews deliver great depth, but can be more expensive as a result of timing and travel.
- Telephone interviews are a great option when geography and budget are an issue, though they lack the opportunity to gather responses to stimuli and non-verbal cues.
- Webcam interviews are a great way to deliver the depth of this methodology while still retaining the non-verbal cues and personal feel of a face-to-face approach.
